Snowmobilers in B.C. have raised over $3.8 million since the inception of Snowarama in B.C. in 1978.  The BC Snowmobile Federation and its member clubs have endorsed Easter Seals as its charity of choice and Snowarama as their official charitable fundraising event.

Two essential services that Easter Seals provides: Easter Seals House and Camps in British Columbia.

Easter Seals House in Vancouver provides a low cost, caring place to stay for more than 100 parents and children every night.

The camps offer once-in-a-lifetime, week-long camping experiences for approximately 800 children across the province.

Message from BC Snowmobile Federation:

It is February and the start of our traditional Snowarama events.  With Provincial Health Orders, travel restrictions and other associated event restrictions due to COVID-19 it is apparent that our events will not be held.  The need at the Easter Seals is greater than ever as all their fundraisers have been affected by the Pandemic.  The BCSF clubs usually raise between $30,000 and $50,000 a year and as you can imagine this loss of revenue will be significant for the Easter Seals.  This loss coupled with the loss of almost all their events is going to affect their ability to keep the Easter Seals House open and available for families across BC that are using the BC Children’s Hospital. The reason that snowmobile clubs in rural BC support this campaign is because the usage of the House is largely by families that need to travel from our communities to Vancouver for specialists and ongoing care.  If these families had to try to get hotel rooms or a place to rent in Vancouver, they could not afford to attend these appointments.  The Easter Seals House has 49 individual suites for these families to use.

We have set a goal of $25,000 Provincially for this season and hope that you will help us meet it.

We have created an online campaign to track the progress and collect online donations at https://www.bcsf.org/campaigns/snowarama-fundraiser-for-easter-seals.

Tax receipts can be issued by Easter Seals for individual donations over $100 and if one is needed you should contact Shannon Bernays sbernays@eastersealsbcy.ca  to arrange for it to be issued.  They will not automatically be generated.
