keystone

Rating: Extreme

Keystone is another popular riding area. The staging area is 52 kms North of Revelstoke on Highway 23. Vast rolling meadows and large rugged terrain makes Keystone a favorite to explore. This is high alpine country is best suited for more experienced riders. There is complex avalanche terrain that must be navigated. Make sure you have the appropriate training, know how to use your safety gear, have a trip plan, and check the avalanche conditions before heading up the Keystone. It is a remote area, so prepare accordingly. The trail is not groomed. After a long day of riding, your arms will feel the burn on the way down.

The Little Cabin

Revelstoke Snowmobile Club has the management agreement for this cabin. If you have any concerns about this building, please contact the Club.

Caribou Closures

Please respect the seasonal snowmobile caribou closures in Keystone (North side of the mountain) and Standard Basin (South of the little cabin) from January 1 to April 15 (inclusive). Closure information and maps are available on the wildlife page or stop in at the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club Welcome Centre to learn more.

The front side of Keystone has some great tree riding, for low visibility days but the back end to Keystone needs to be saved for a sunny or brighter day.

Be aware of high avalanche hazards on the expert terrain. It is your responsibility to check avalanche conditions before heading out.

Parking Lot!

Big news! As of 2023 the RSC was able to put in a parking lot at Keystone with the blessing of the MOF and RCFC.

Membership dollars were used to build the large 150 x 100′ parking lot and we are currently taking donations to help with the expense of plowing.

$10 is the suggested minimum donation for parking.
