At the core of what we do are our values. This is how we base our strategic decisions which shape the future of the club. While the membership owns the club, the directors steer the helm in a direction that shapes its future. Below are the values that shape our club and guide our decisions moving forward.

Sustainability
Sustainability at RSC is more than a principle; we go beyond maintaining trails, actively fostering positive relations among key stakeholders, including government partners, community stakeholders, and fellow mountain enthusiasts.

Our collaboration with Rec Sites and Trails BC is integral to our sustainability efforts. Through a consultation process with them and other stakeholders, we ensure that the diverse needs of different user groups are considered. These collaborative efforts are fundamental in retaining and expanding backcountry areas, showcasing RSC as a leader in sustainable recreational snowmobiling.

We recognize the importance of accommodating different user groups within our managed areas. Whether you are an avid rider, a sled-assisted skier or snowboarder, or other mountain enthusiast, our commitment is to enhance the experience for everyone. Managed areas, strategically developed on Boulder and Frisby, not only provide a sanctuary for snowmobilers but also contribute to the overall enjoyment of the backcountry for diverse winter enthusiasts.

By promoting family engagement and ensuring that our backcountry remains a haven for all winter enthusiasts, we are steadfast in our commitment to a sustainable, thriving, and inclusive snowmobiling culture.

Community
Community, for us, extends beyond the trails into the connections we build. RSC inspires its members to become positive and influential contributors to the community. Warming huts, strategically placed in our managed areas, Boulder and Frisby, not only provide shelter but also foster conversations between riders. Here, experiences are shared, conditions discussed, and friendships formed.

Initiatives like Ladies Ride Days underscore our commitment to a diverse membership. We recognize that a thriving community is the heart of snowmobiling. We have a commitment to family principles, including our upcoming Family Day Events (keep an eye out for more info!), offering family memberships and recognizing our legacy through our Vintage ride. We understand that, for many, snowmobiling is part of our Canadian heritage, and we want to share the stoke with the next generation. Be sure to high-five or wave to the kids out there experiencing it to ensure their early sledding experiences are memorable ones.

Experienced riders at RSC play a crucial role in supporting beginners. Keep a watchful eye on those new to the sport, and we encourage you to offer assistance if needed, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. This culture of support is vital in creating a community where everyone, regardless of their riding level, feels part of something special.

In the spirit of community, RSC strives to create an environment where every rider feels welcomed and supported—a community thriving on shared experiences and the excitement of exploring the backcountry together.

Accountability
Accountability is central to our culture, creating a positive environment for both our employees and our members. RSC prioritizes providing a safe and positive work environment for its dedicated employees, including health benefits for returning staff.

The longevity of our team members (some for over 20 years!) stands as a testament to our commitment, not just to operational excellence, but to the people who contribute to our success. This longevity not only strengthens our internal cohesion but also elevates the overall quality of service we provide.

Financial transparency is paramount, ensuring that member support translates into tangible improvements. We plan ahead through surveys to understand member priorities and organize meetings, offering insight into where your funds are allocated and encouraging you to have a say. Transparency and integrity are non-negotiable principles at RSC. We understand that openness to our members, community stakeholders, and governmental partners is crucial. This commitment ensures not only the sustainability of our operations but also the preservation of these spaces and our continued access to the backcountry.
