Caribou Basin

Caribou basin

Rating: Extreme

Caribou Basin is a beautiful ride. It is located approximately 108 km north of Revelstoke on Highway 23. This is our furthest most riding area but well worth the drive. The front side has some great tree riding which leads to two massive bowls. You can also go up the backside up the Brewster logging road.

Caribou Basin is best suited for more experienced riders. Extreme avalanche hazards that must be navigated. Make sure you have the appropriate training, know how to use your safety gear, have a trip plan, and check the avalanche conditions before heaing to Caribou Basin. It is a remote area, so prepare accordingly.

Caribou Closures
Unfortunately, the entire mountain is closed to snowmobiling from January 1 to April 15 for seasonal caribou closures. Closure information and maps are available on the wildlife page or stop in at the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club Welcome Centre to learn more.

Be aware of high avalanche hazards on the expert terrain. It is your responsibility to check avalanche conditions before heading out.
