Rating: Family Friendly to Extreme

Frisby Ridge is another of Revelstoke’s premier riding areas offering something for everyone. Groomed trails leading to the alpine offer stunning valley views, open bowls, and expert tree riding.

The Frisby cabin is a great place to warm up and dry out your gear while having lunch.

Parking
The main staging area is located the end of Westside Road, under the transmission powerlines. you can ride over from the Boulder staging area on Streeter Street trail, which is the connector for Boulder and Frisby Mountains.

Trail Fees
Once you have geared up, head over to the ticket booth at the trail head. The daily trail access fee is $30 per rider. We accept cash, debit or credit. If you are a member, please scan your membership card at the ticket booth. Revelstoke Snowmobile Club grooms seven nights a week and twice on Friday and Saturday trail conditions dependent.

You may choose to spend the day riding the groomed trails or head straight to the cabin. Remember: Constant throttle speed will help to preserve the trails. Don’t forget to sign in and out at the Frisby Cabin before heading past. If there are vehicles in the parking lot overnight, we will check the logbook to see if anyone has not signed out.

Once in the alpine the common landmarks are Summit Lookout, Little Cabin, Skinny Ridge, Green Tower or all the way back to The Burn. There are three large signposts across the ridge passed the Summit Lookout to help you navigate. The weather can change quickly in Revelstoke. When a storm rolls in, it can be very difficult to cross the ridge in a whiteout.

Caribou Closures

As of November 8th, 2022 the BC Snowmobile Federation in partnership with the Revelstoke Snowmobile club and the BC Ministry of Forests would like to announce the repeal of the Frisby Ridge Caribou closure effective immediately.

For more information please refer the BCSF Press Release.

Overnight Camping

As per Revelstoke Snowmobile Club’s agreement with Recreation Sites and Trails BC, camping in the Boulder and Frisby parking lots is strictly prohibited.  Not only does it disrupt snow removal and parking, but also impedes the Club’s safety protocols for ensuring everyone returns safely from the mountain.

Guided Tours
If you are unfamiliar with the area, we recommend that your group hires a professionally trained guide.

Great Canadian Tours is the only legal snowmobile tour provider in Revelstoke.  You are in the back country. If something goes wrong, make sure your guide has the knowledge to manage it.

You should expect the minimum education and experience of your guide:

  1. Avalanche Operations 1 or 2 certification for safely guiding complex terrain
  2. Advanced wilderness survival first aid training
  3. Basic mechanical knowledge
  4. Satellite and radio communication

Be aware of high avalanche hazards on the expert terrain. It is your responsibility to check avalanche conditions before heading out.
